People: Entropia Founder Prashant Kumar wins International Advertising Association award

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Entropia founder and senior partner, Prashant Kumar, has been awarded the International Advertising Association (IAA) “Champion” Compass Award 2020 – in recognition of his notable contributions and achievements in the global marketing communications industry.

Prashant, who has catapulted Entropia to one of the fastest growing agencies in the region, is among only five people in the world to be awarded this accolade this year. Other recipients of the awards include: Tom Doctoroff, Global Senior Advisor, Prophet, USA; Maruisz Jan Demner, Founder & CEO, Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, Austria; Joel Nettey, Chief Executive Officer, The Ninani Group, Ghana; and Walid Kanafani, Managing Partner, Beyond Consulting Services, Kuwait.

Commenting on his win, Prashant said, “The IAA has managed to build a genuine sense of community and dialogue in the industry. The association consistently works hard to build professional standards and a spirit of intellectual sophistication towards a better future together. It’s been an honour and joy to belong here.”

His unique cross-over perspective of both online and offline worlds has grown consulting-meets-agency, Entropia to over 65 clients and 230 people; handling multiple campaigns across South-East Asia, servicing brands such as Pepsi, KFC, BMW, BAT, Nestle, Heineken, etc., and winning top accolades for their work, both in Malaysia and the APAC region.

A one-time dotcom entrepreneur, Prashant has been a renowned thought leader in the areas of marketing in the digital age for over two decades. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and MICA, Ahmedabad in India; has served on the Cannes Media Lions jury as one of the youngest, and has been a speaker at leading global industry events such as DMEXCO Germany and the Festival of Media Global, Rome. Before founding Entropia, he ran IPG Mediabrands as President, Asia from 2012 to 2016.

As one of the core members of the IAA since 2017, Prashant is part of the IAA Council and has been a panellist in a series of debates organised by the organisation.
