MANILA – Leading Creative Post-Production House PixelBox has scored a major coup with the appointment of world-renowned colourist Pete Williams in the role of Head of Colour. Williams will be based in the newly opened Manila Office and joins a team that includes the highly respected Shanghai based Senior Colourist Thomas Bouffiolx.
William’s illustrious career spans over two decades and has seen him collaborate with a host of industry legends to create a body of unforgettable work.
Starting out as an apprentice, his abundance of raw talent and natural eye for detail was soon recognised, and ultimately rewarded with a move to Post Production ‘mecca’ The Mill, London. It was here that he discovered, and fell in love with, the art of colour grading and was mentored by industry greats; Fergus McCall and Adam Scott to name a few.
During his seven-year tenure at The Mill, he honed his craft and developed a formidable skill set, while working on multi award winning commercials for many of the world’s leading brands, including the Frank Budgeon directed ‘Double Life’ spot for Sony Playstation and ‘Perfect Day’ for the BBC.
As his skill and reputation as a colourist grew, so too did his ability as a leader. Williams established the new grading department at Condor where he first teamed up with PixelBox Group GM Stephen Douglas.

After departing the UK, Pete moved to the Asia Pacific region joining DigiPost in New Zealand as their senior colourist, where he worked on a host of award winning local and international commercials. During this period, a burgeoning film and television industry saw him make the move to features, where he worked with directors such as Andrew Adamson and David Slade, and esteemed DOPs from around the world.
Through his work on features in NZ, he was given the opportunity to contribute to the award-winning Starz TV series Spartacus. Over four seasons, he was instrumental in developing the final grades and overall look of this international blockbuster.
After this highly successful foray into long form, Pete returned to his first love of grading commercials, which saw him make the move to Asia, where he worked at internationally renowned post house Smoke & Mirrors, before going freelance.
It was while doing contract work for PixelBox Shanghai that he befriended PixelBox founder Chris Thorp, who invited him to join their new Manila office to help build and oversee the new team.
Says Thorp: “We’re on a mission to build a team of highly talented, industry leading practitioners across our Hong Kong, Shanghai and Manilla offices, with our primary objective being to offer all of our current and future clients the very best. Here in the Philippines, we want to help grow the local industry by raising the bar and bringing more international work to Manila.
Pete comes with a big reputation, a seriously impressive resume and a body of work that will help us kick our goals and continue to grow and prosper.”
“With both Pete and Thomas on board, I would say that PixelBox would have one of the strongest creative colour grading teams in the Philippines and the region” Adds Douglas.
