SINGAPORE – Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore announced that award-winning business development leader, Richard Newman, has joined the creative agency as its regional business director. Newman will serve as the key account lead for FWD, the insurance arm of Asia-based Pacific Century Group, driving its regional program across key Asian markets. He will also be responsible for driving new business across all disciplines for Publicis Communications, reporting directly to Publicis Communications Singapore CEO, Lou Dela Pena.

Newman joins Saatchi & Saatchi after senior appointments where he delivered strong top line revenue performance across businesses spanning publishing, recruitment, and marketing. His achievements have been recognised with multiple individual and organisational awards from industry, including being named Campaign Asia’s New Business Person of the Year SEA (2012). He was most recently responsible for driving growth across Asia Pacific for another global agency network.

CEO of Publicis Communications Singapore, Lou Dela Pena, welcomed Newman to the team, saying, “Richard has that rare blend of creative thinking and business acumen that has made him an invaluable asset to the organisations he has been with. As we continue our transformation toward a more collaborative, interdependent structure at Publicis Communications, I am confident that he will enable us to forge new and exciting creative and business opportunities together.”

“As the Publicis Communications model of singularity with no silos cements itself, I am thrilled to be joining the network at a time where our clients’ needs are put right at the centre of a fluid and collaborative operation,” said Newman. “FWD’s ambitions in the insurance category are well-placed to benefit from this new structure which differentiates us from our competition. What attracted me the most was Lou’s vision for the company, as well as the team she has, and continues to build around her.”
