BERLIN – Roman Coppola –director, screenwriter and producer– will headline Ciclope Festival 2014, the only international event fully dedicated to the craft in moving image and advertising.
Coppola will participate in a public interview on November 7 in Berlin.
Growing up in film (his father is American auteur Francis Ford Coppola), Coppola began his directing career doing visual effects and second unit direction for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which was nominated for a BAFTA for Visual Effects.
Coppola also produced and co-wrote Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited, as well as co-wrote Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay.
He also worked with sister Sofia on films such as Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and Somewhere.
The interview with Coppola will culminate the fifth edition of Ciclope Festival, which will gather other top producers, directors and creatives from all over the world, such as Ringan Ledwidge (Rattling Stick, UK), Georges Bermann (Partizan, France), Sarah Barclay(JWT, US), Morihiko Hasebe (Hakuhodo, Japan), Johannes Ahlund (B-Reel, Sweden), Sneha Iype (Nirvana Films, India), Fernando Nobre(Borghi/Lowe, Brazil), Gerrit Zinke (thjnk, Germany) and Jacqueline Zhang (Gwantsi, China), among others.
The fifth Ciclope Festival will run from November 6 to 7 at Babylon Mitte, Berlin.
