The last wave is out! Six categories of the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity 2018 release shortlists in anticipation of the awarding happening tonight at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands.
The Philippines is gunning for more metals in the Healthcare category. McCann Manila leads with two entries for RiteMed Budget Epics – “Knight of the Living Dead” and “Himalayan Showdown”. McCann Momentum Philippines gained one spot, also for RiteMed with the episode “The Great Sandstorm”. GIGIL gained solo mention under Health Services and Facilities for “Dr. Internet”, created for KonsultaMD.
TBWA/Santiago Mangada Puno’s “Disgusting Stories” campaign for Bahay Tuluyan, after being shortlisted under the Digital, Film, and Film Craft categories, also produced an entry under the Music shortlist.
In total, the Philippines garnered 28 entries across 20 categories in this year’s Spikes Asia shortlists.
Here is the summary of the last batch of shortlists for the categories Creative Effectiveness, Entertainment, Glass, Healthcare, Music and Integrated:
Under Creative Effectiveness, Australia dominates with three entries, two from CHE Proximity with “the Billion Point Giveaway” for Velocity Frequent Flyer and ‘The Hearing Test in Disguise for Cochlear” and the other from Clemenger BBDO for “Hungerithm”, made for Snickers. India is also in the running with two entries, New Zealand and Pakistan with one each.
Japan tops the shortlist under the Entertainment category, with 10 mentions. Australia comes second with seven entries, Thailand and India tallied 3 shortlists each, two each for Chinese Taipei and Singapore, one each for China and Singapore.
It’s a close fight for Glass: The Award for Change, with Pakistan, India, and Australia having two entries each. South Korea and Hong Kong are also in with one entry each.
For the Healthcare category, India tops the shortlist with 19 entries, five of which are from TBWA/India for “Blink to Speak”, created for Asha Ek Hope & Neurogen Brain & Spine Institute, Australia is at second place with 10 mentions, Philippines has four entries, Thailand tallied three shortlists all for “Tiny Doll” from J. Walter Thompson Bangkok. two for New Zealand, and one each for Singapore, South Korea and Japan.
India is also reigning supreme in the Music category with three mentions. Japan gained three spots as well, one each from Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Japan, China and Indonesia.
Under the Integrated category, Australia is at the forefront with four shortlists, Singapore and China with two each, and one each for India and Japan.
