J&J has launched ‘Distinctly Dad’ as part of their #howloveworks drive, their very first short documentary.
Created by TBWA\Chiat\Day, the documentary introduces three dads as they contemplate the impact they’re making on children’s lives.
Directed by RDI’s Antony Crook, the film features real dads and families. “It was important for us to capture real people because we wanted to tell the authentic story about dads that never gets told. And Antony has an amazing ability to get people to tell their stories in a truly authentic way,” the agency said.
The agency notes that while moms have always received plenty of love in media, dads have taken a backseat. However, fathers have more to offer than they realize, the agency said.
Described as an emotional, reflective look inside the three dads’ fatherhood journey, ‘Distinctly Dad’ shows how each dad relies on their innate abilities to face different challenges, from insecurity to homelessness.
According to the agency, the short film is the perfect opportunity to recognise dads, especially coming up to Father’s Day. “Johnson & Johnson has always been an iconic presence when it comes to mothers and children. But they’re really about fathers too,” they said.
“Distinctly Dad” is part of the J&J #howloveworks effort, a journey to discover how love has such a profound impact on those we care about most.
