TV5 brings back the 80’s with Bagets and Iskul Bukol

PHILIPPINES, MAY 11, 2011 – Two new TV5 shows based on 80’s hits are set to bring in young and not-so-young audiences through familiar formulas updated for millennials.
 
The 1984 youth comedy film Bagets, which launched the careers of Aga Muhlach, Raymond Launchengco, JC Bonnin, William Martinez and Herbert Bautista, is given a spin as a weekly show. New talents Rico dela Paz,  Johan Laurence, AJ Muhlach, Josh Padilla and Hideaki Torio appear in Bagets, launching on Sunday, May 15 at 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Expect musical numbers and dance moves.
 
The zany Iskul Bukol gang, originally led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, return to Wanbol University with Sam YG, Alwyn Uytingco and Keempee de Leon. According to reports, the younger de Leon has revealed that the series will have Glee and How I Met Your Mother influences. Iskul Bukol starts airing on Tuesday, May 24.
