DIGITAL – The days of Twitter’s deviance is now over. The star button that we used to click to favorite a tweet is now gone and is replaced with a sanguine heart instead to signify “like”–a button that is so much like Instagram, and an expression that mirrors that of Facebook’s.
According to Twitter, the change comes with the social media network’s consideration of the degree of a person’s attraction to a specific tweet, “You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite,” said Twitter’s Product Manager, Akarshan Kumar.
Now, the like button is universal to all of Twitter’s global community including Vine and Periscope which hearts were embraced in a big way according to Kumar.
