USA dominates Film Craft shortlists

CANNES – The USA emerged with the most number of shortlisted entries in the Film Craft category at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. The shortlist was revealed June 20.

The USA counted 69 out of the 135 entries in the shortlist, with campaigns from BBDO New York, Droga5, BBH New York, Bot & Dolly San Francisco, Durable Goods Los Angeles, Interlude New York, MJZ Los Angeles, O Positive Films, Radical Media, Park Pictures, Pereira & O’Dell San Francisco, Creative Artists Agency, Smuggler, McGarryBowen New York, Joint Editorial Portland, Anomaly, Interlude, Barton F. Graf 9000, SS+K New York, Wieden + Kennedy Portland, Publicis Kaplan Thaler.

The United Kingdom trailed the US in the number of finalists, with 30 entries making the shortlist, including Adam&EveDDB’s ‘Bear & Hare’ for John Lewis, BBH London’s ‘Call to Arms’ for Axe Peace, and Factory’s ‘Hands’ for Honda.

Sweden came up with seven finalists, including Forsman & Bodenfor’s ‘Epic Split’ for Volvo, which already won the Cyber Grand Prix as part of the ‘Live Test Series.’

At the same time, Australia had five entries on the shortlist, while New Zealand had four. Denmark, Argentina, and the UAE had three each, while India, Canada, France, and Spain had two apiece. Japan, Singapore, and South Africa all had one finalist entry each.
