Those in the big offices, printing, or photocopying businesses surely have experienced a printer running out of ink or malfunctioning just when there is an urgent paper task to attend to. Not only that such printing downtime affects the job, it is also costly.

In response to that, Epson, a worldwide leader in printing technologies and ink tank printers, launched its very own printing solution, called the EasyCare 360.

EasyCare360 is a multi-purpose solution installed in Epson printers to provide businesses hassle-free management, by checking the status of the unit and taking care of the consumables, spare parts, repair, and maintenance services.

Eduardo Bonoan, marketing director for Epson Philippines, explained to adobo magazine that Epson decided to come up with EasyCare360 because customers demanded for this subscription service.

“The detail-obsessed individuals in Epson are committed not only in creating the most innovative products for consumers, but also in developing solutions that will complement these products and help drive business innovation value,” said Bonoan. “With EasyCare360, we aim to showcase that we are capable of providing end-to-end service to our customers and ensure business continuity.”

This monthly subscription service can be availed of separately from Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C869R printers. This A3 multifunction printer offers the lowest-cost color printing in its class. Equipped with a Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS), the WorkForce Pro WF-C869R delivers up to 84,000 ISO pages before changing the ink packs, which translates to fewer interventions and less hassle for users.

The EasyCare360 which comes upon the purchase of this printer features a “pay-per-click” model for each printer, enabling customers to pay only for the total number of pages they print every month. With this model, customers can control their printing costs by removing the uncertainty of buying consumables and unexpected parts for repair.

“If we are to look at the printer itself, we are able to boast that the printer has the most competitive rate, cost per page. Of course, for customers to be able to take advantage of the economical effectiveness of the printer, then we have also put together a service together with this.”, Bonoan shares.

A main feature of EasyCare360 is its premium, on-call technical service, now a must considering the bulk of work such printers must accomplish in different businesses. A dedicated technical support team guarantees a two-hour response time for solving on-site issues, and is available to serve customers every Mondays to Saturdays except on National Holidays, from 9 AM to 4 PM. For calls beyond 4 PM, on-site visits will be done on the next working day.

EasyCare360 is now available within Metro Manila. Epson conducted tests and research to see the viability of the two-hour response time, and is also looking into expanding the scope of the service.

“At this point, we are really trying to ensure that we are truly able to iron out things and ensure quality customer satisfaction is achieved. Once we had done that, once we are fully confident that we have achieved those ends, then we will continue to roll it out outside Metro Manila.”, Bonoan says.

An EasyCare360 subscription also includes free delivery of parts and consumables, remote troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installation services, and end-user training.

Under the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the Epson Group comprises more than 81,000 employees in 85 companies around the world. In the Philippines, Epson’s corporate presence began in 1998. It now has an extensive network of 77 Authorized Service Centers nationwide with more than 200 dealers and more than 800 shops across the Country.
