ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 4, 2011— XM-Asia Managing Partners, Gerard Lim and Vince Lui, have announced the appointment of Belinda Tan and Joel Yeo to the agency’s client service practice.
Belinda Tan will take on the role of Group Account Director, primarily working on client, Singapore Economic Development Board as well as focusing on new business development. Recently from Leo Burnett Singapore, Tan comes armed with a decade of agency and client experience spanning multinational brands (American Express, BP, Kimberly Clarke) in multiple categories (from airlines to technology and tobacco) for both B2C and B2B marketing.
Joel Yeo joins the XM-Asia team as Account Director, responsible for MasterCard and Royal Caribbean International with additional involvement in the agency’s special projects. Before joining XM Asia, Yeo held global and regional digital leadership roles for respected clients including Unilever, Levi’s, SingTel, Mercedes-Benz and Visa.
Combining his training and experience in Information Technology and Marketing, Yeo has found a way to balance delivery of highly creative campaigns that make the best use of the technology, within the limitations of the intended market. With additional experience in project management, he is able to conceptualize and implement enterprise level digital strategies that extend beyond the usual scale of campaigns.
Commenting on the appointments, Gerard Lim stated, “The pursuit of talent is an endless quest. As the digital landscape acclimates every six months, so must agencies continually configure their talent strategy on how to identify and acquire skill sets that are next-generation-based but also commercially viable today. Beyond intelligence, we are always in the market for ‘imaginers’ that have a balance of human empathy and actualization abilities. We have found this in Belinda and Joel who make a welcome addition to the XM team."
Both Tan and Yeo will be based in Singapore and will join recently promoted Business Director, Mel Teh, in managing and growing the agency’s foundation accounts. The hires and promotion are effective immediately, with all three reporting in to Gerard Lim.
Digital agency XM Asia is part of the WPP group. XM clients include Economic Development Board, HP, Nokia, MasterCard, Diageo, Royal Caribbean, Malaysia Airlines, SAP and Singapore Tourism Board.
