DETROIT – One Show announced on Wednesday the winners of the 2016 Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards at the 2016 North American International Auto Show.
Two agencies from Asia-Pacific were awarded as the best auto ads of the year. Y&R Singapore/Campaign Palace Manila won under the Print and Outdoor category for ‘Test Drive Billboard’, a campaign for Land Rover.
These ‘Test Drive Billboards’ were installed at Bonifacio Global City during the Great British Festival and the opening of the Palace Pool Club, and at Filinvest Alabang’s open parking lot where car enthusiasts actually got to drive the Range Rover Evoque from a terrapod.
This campaign was also shortlisted at Cannes Lions 2015 and won a Bronze Clio.
DDB Group New Zealand’s ‘Reverse April Fool’s’ campaign for BMW, meanwhile, won under the Experiential category. This campaign recently won the Grand Prix for Promo & Activation at Spikes Asia 2015.
