GoDaddy’s new survey reveals that Filipino businesses plan on investing in building their own websites

MANILA, PHILIPPINES GoDaddy Inc., the company that helps entrepreneurs thrive, released the second set of survey findings from its GoDaddy 2023 Data Observatory. The survey found more the majority of Filipino small businesses plan to implement marketing activities for their website, including advertising on social media platforms (85%), creating a responsive design for their website (70%), and monitoring the traffic of their pages (69%). 

Additionally, GoDaddy’s Data Observatory finds that 34% of small businesses in the Philippines, which currently don’t have a business website, plan to build one within the next three months, and 55% plan to do it in the next year. This underscores the continued importance of social media and creating a holistic digital marketing strategy. Furthermore, 65% of small businesses surveyed in the Philippines reported their keenness to sell their products or services online compared to the global average of 53%.  

With digitalization growing at a rapid pace in the Philippines, having a strong online presence is vital for businesses. In alignment with this, Filipino respondents acknowledged the benefits of having a website, including it allows them to better showcase their products and services (75%), enhances the visibility of their business (72%), aids in having more information about their target audience (72%), allows them to explore new sales channels (71%), and helps them attract new target audiences (70%).

The survey finds that 56% of Filipino small businesses embrace marketing automation, on par with the global average of 57%. This emphasizes the growing recognition of marketing automation as an effective tool for enhancing marketing strategies and streamlining business processes. Filipino respondents used automated tools for reporting and analytics (62%), and customer behavior tracking (59%), indicating their commitment to leveraging insights for informed decision-making.

The GoDaddy Data Observatory was conducted by Advanis in March 2023 in Brazil, Colombia, Germany, India, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, and the United States. The sample criteria were small business owners, and companies were defined based on the number of employees, ranging from one to 50 people. For this study, a total of 4,682 entrepreneurs and small business owners were surveyed, including 488 in APAC (Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand combined).
