MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Spotify has launched a new family of personalised playlists: Spotify Mixes. Built with unique listening preferences in mind, Spotify Mixes starts with the songs each user likes, and is continuously updated with the song recommendations Spotify thinks you will love.
Free and Premium users globally will now have access to three new mix categories with clearer names that are easier to remember and will evolve with individual listening preferences: artist mix, genre mix and decade mix.

Each mix category is updated frequently and will have several playlists featuring artists, genres and decades users listen to often — and are created with individual users at its core. These new personalized playlists were inspired by Daily Mix, an incredibly popular part of the Spotify catalog, and the most listened-to one by existing users.
Previously at Spotify’s virtual event Stream On in March, Spotify announced it would be evolving and expanding its beloved Daily Mix family by adding more playlists that are increasingly personalized to individual listeners and progressed over time—allowing users more recommendations to choose from based on their moods and interests.
At Stream On, Gustav Söderström, Spotify’s Chief R&D Officer, said: “There isn’t just one Spotify experience. There are actually more like 345 million different Spotify experiences—one for each listener. Every day, half a trillion events—whether they are searches, listens, likes, or countless other actions—take place on Spotify, powering and guiding our machine learning system. This gives us the ability to drive discovery in a way that audio has never seen before.”
Representing the next generation of focused, personalised offerings at Spotify, Spotify Mixes offers listeners a new opportunity for discovery based on the music they already love.
Users will be able to find the new artist mix, genre mix, and decade mix within Search in the “Made For You” hub.
