Orbitz Worldwide selects BBDO New York its new creative agency of record, Ronald Ng important to the win

Chicago, IL – Orbitz Worldwide, has selected BBDO New York to be its creative agency partner, following a competitive review.

A leading global online travel company, Orbitz Worldwide uses innovative technology to enable leisure and business travelers to research, plan and book a broad range of travel products.

BBDO will work directly with Deborah Italiano, vice president of brand marketing for Orbitz.com, to develop a multimedia brand campaign that is expected to debut this summer.
 
The BBDO creative team will be led by Chief Creative Officer David Lubars and Executive Creative Director Ronald Ng.

Ronald Ng, who played an important role in the win, comes fresh from BBDO/Proximity Malaysia.  Ng is half the tandem, with Mun Tuck Wai, behind the groundbreaking, metal-guzzling Jeep campaign that won the Grand Prix at the New York Festivals and ADFEST as well as Gold at Cannes, Clio and One Show, and a Yellow Pencil at the prestigious D&AD Awards. 

Such wins under Ng, catapulted BBDO/Proximity Malaysia the 13th most awarded in the word according to the Won Report.  Ng’s work on the HELP “Wheelchair” campaign is the 6th most awarded “Innovative and Alternative Media” in the world, as well. 

BBDO/Proximity Malaysia was also the top-performing agency across all disciplines at the Kancil Awards 2008 and the No.1 agency at the Direct Marketing Awards of Malaysia. It also walked off with Gold at the Asian Marketing and Effectiveness Awards.
Ng’s transfer to the New York offices was seen as a move to reinforce the agency’s standing as a world-class agency that nurtures world-class talent.
