ABP Network CEO Avinash Pandey is elected NBDA President

NEW DELHI, INDIA — ABP Network CEO Avinash Pandey has been elected President of the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA), replacing Rajat Sharma, the chairman of Independent News Services. Prior to this, Avinash served as the vice president of NBDA.

Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing Managing Director MV Shreyams Kumar has taken over as the vice president while Anuradha Prasad Shukla, the chairperson and managing director of News24 Broadcast India has been elected as the honorary treasurer of NBDA.

The new appointments took place during NBDA’s board meeting held September 16.

“It is an immense responsibility considering the strategic inflection point our news industry is going through. I am confident that NBDA members and its board will continue to make a difference to our industry and society,” Avinash said.

Meanwhile, Rajat said, “Last few years have been extremely challenging for news broadcasters, I am happy that NBDA fought every crisis as a team and won every battle. I’m delighted to hand over the presidentship to Avinash who has worked very closely with me in NBDA.  He has to carry the legacy we have built collectively over the years”.

Having served the ABP Group since 2005 in various roles, Avinash Pandey donned the mantle of CEO of ABP Network in January 2019. He has over 26 years of experience in the Media sector.
