JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Creative network Dentsu has appointed Elvira Jakub as CEO of Dentsu Indonesia. Effective immediately, Elvira reports to Sanjay Bhasin, CEO of dentsu for Southeast Asia.

Elvira Jakub

Elvira is a marketing transformation veteran with over 23 years of experience in the Indonesian market. She joins dentsu from Google where she was Head of Industry, helping traditional businesses in auto and tech/telco thrive during and post-pandemic through innovative transformation.

Elvira takes over the baton from Prakash Kamdar, who has led the network’s Indonesia business since February 2022. In his current role as CEO for Clients and Solutions, SEA, Prakash will further focus on accelerating dentsu’s client portfolio across its Southeast Asia cluster, a role he continues to serve out of the hub of Singapore, where he also remains as CEO of dentsu Singapore.

Sanjay commented, “A deeply experienced marketing transformation leader with an intimate knowledge of the Indonesia market – we have found the right person in Elvira to continue dentsu Indonesia’s growth trajectory amid an unprecedented era of economic growth for the market. Elvira’s appointment is timely as we ramp up the evolution of our Southeast Asia business to harness more synergies for our clients and people across the cluster.”

Elvira shared, “Indonesia’s market is rapidly evolving, and our clients need adaptable, integrated solutions to meet their business goals. I am thrilled to join dentsu Indonesia at this pivotal moment. Our team has been pioneering an integrated approach to creative, media, and CXM, empowering our clients to become innovation powerhouses in the ever-evolving marketing landscape. I am grateful to be taking on the helm of dentsu Indonesia from what Prakash has built with the entire team here and I look forward to charting new grounds with the foundations that have been laid.”

Prakash said, “As one of the country’s largest integrated agency networks, dentsu Indonesia carries a great responsibility on its shoulders in supporting the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy and in uplifting the communities within it. I am so proud of our team here for being relentless in this commitment over the years as we helped clients and communities thrive with integrated solutions, including Dentsu Commerce and Dentsu Influence. It has been an incredible journey with this team, and I have no doubt that they will take this to new heights under Elvira’s leadership.”

“Under Prakash’s leadership, dentsu Indonesia has delivered its most integrated growth to date. He takes the same visionary approach in scaling our Southeast Asia client experience, where he will continue to have a close pulse on the ground with our clients in Indonesia,” Sanjay added.

In 2023, dentsu announced the creation of its Southeast Asia cluster, the fast-growing market for the network in APAC. Dentsu Southeast Asia includes the markets of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
