LONDON, UK — Digitas has appointed Matt Lodder as its new Chief Operating Officer. The announcement follows a year of growth for the agency in which it has doubled down on creativity and strengthened its role as a strategic partner to clients.

Reporting to CEO Jennifer Berry, Matt will be responsible for supercharging the overall business operations and delivery model for Digitas UK in order to unlock further growth potential and create market-leading transformation for their clients.

Matt is an experienced business leader who ran R/GA for seven years as MD, leading the EMEA region. He left the agency in 2020 and founded a consultancy, Ourika, which has seen him collaborate with founders and leaders of digital transformation businesses to foster experimentation, drive innovation, and unlock growth. Matt started his career at AKQA, where he stayed for almost a decade and was responsible for the delivery of all Nike work globally as Program Director.

Following the arrival of Berry at the start of 2023, Digitas has been delivering on its mission to help brands harness the power of connection to create a positive impact. CCO Carren O’Keefe joined in June, and data and talent were elevated to the top table when a new leadership lineup was unveiled in August. Matt’s hire completes the turbo-charged leadership team.

Jen Berry said, “Matt’s appointment into this crucial role will be pivotal as we take Digitas to the next level. He understands the complexity and craft of our business and has deep, digital knowledge as well as being a formidable and strategic operator, all of which will make him invaluable. His role will be critical as we continue to build outstanding experiences centered around our clients and their consumers.”

Matt commented, “It’s a great time to be joining Jen and the Digitas team. They’re on a roll right now and the ambition is strong. They have the talent, the culture, and the breadth of capabilities to connect all the dots and collaborate with bold clients to create real impact. I’m looking forward to being part of a talented agency team again. It feels like anything is possible.”

Matt joins the agency next month.
