NEPAL — Ujaya Shakya, Founder of Outreach Nepal, has been bestowed with the accolade of “Asia’s Most Admired Marketing Leader” at the 14th edition of the CMO Asia Awards. The event, hosted at the Pan Pacific Singapore on August 17, 2023, celebrated the remarkable achievements and contributions of marketing personalities from across the Asia Pacific region. 

Established in 2010 and endorsed by the World Federation of Marketing Professionals, CMO Asia recognized outstanding leaders who made significant strides in the field of marketing. Ujaya Shakya’s dedication and continuous efforts to represent Nepali advertising and cultivate a more robust professional ecosystem in Nepal have earned him this distinguished accolade. 

With an experience spanning over two decades in strategic 360-degree communication, branding, and social behavior change communication (SBCC), Ujaya Shakya has played an instrumental role in the successful launch of several global brands to Nepal, as well as in spearheading impactful SBCC campaigns focused on public health and social issues. His book, “Brandsutra” published in 2015, serves as a testament to his expertise. A regular presence at prestigious industry events across Asia, he is frequently invited as a jury member and speaker for advertising and brand awards across the region, solidifying his reputation as a thought leader. His leadership and commitment to driving Nepal’s marketing industry forward are widely recognized in the region. His journey continues to inspire young professionals in the field to strive for excellence and embrace the transformative power of marketing.

Addressing the audience at the award ceremony, Ujaya shared insights that highlight the aspirations of Nepal’ youth, which surpass the grandeur of its mountains. He emphasized the important of empathy towards consumers and their pain points, asserting that in a landscape where technology is no longer a sole differentiator, its human connection that holds genuine importance. 

Dr. R L Bhatia, the founder of World CSR Day & World Sustainability and Dr. Aalok Pandit, Executive Director of CMO Asia, officiated the CMO Asia Award. The 14th edition of the awards recognizes over 40 CMOs from companies like IBM, Google, Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas, Microsoft, Otis, ADP, Rahimafrooz, HP, Salesforce, Autodesk, Hello Fresh representing countries across the Asia Pacific Region.
