People: Award-winning filmmaker Michael Wong joins Interone China as Executive Creative Director

BEIJING, CHINA — Interone has appointed film and creative director Michael Wong to take the leading role as its new executive creative director.

As an adman with over 20 years’ experience working at international 4A creative agencies, Michael has built an impressive portfolio collecting over 50 creative awards around the world for his unique way of combining visual arts, digital marketing, new media, and integrated communications.

His career spanned decades serving the automotive industry, creating work for impressive clients like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Lexus, Peugeot, Toyota, and Citroën, winning awards such as the China Automobile Advertisement Awards: Gold (2008), Best Agency performance, Best Copywriting, Silver and Bronzes (2004).

Aside from automotive clients, Michael has worked with brands such as Adidas, Pernod Ricard, DHL, Sina, Xiaomi, Johnson & Johnson, JD.com, Lenovo, and IDO Jewelry.

Throughout his career, he has been involved with a variety of creative ventures, ranging from, not only conceptual advertising but also to Immersive Entertainment productions with an eye for film and storytelling.

During his ten years in commercial film directing, he directed two independent short films. The Story of 90 Coins won over 70 international awards; among these were Best Direction at the Malta Short Film Festival, Best Drama at the Los Angeles Film Awards, and Best Foreign Short at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. His most recent micro short film The Tattooist was awarded Best Trailer at HorrorHaus Film Festival.
