People: New Zealand’s largest company, Fonterra, announces new appointments

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND — Senior Marketing leader Neelesh Suryavanshee has joined the multinational dairy company Fonterra as its Southeast Asia General Manager for Marketing. He has spent more than 15 years with Unilever building brands across Southeast Asia, and was most recently Unilever Indonesia’s Vice President for the Hair and Deodorant category, leading core marketing functions including integrated go-to-market, creative, design, insights, and media.

In Fonterra, he is responsible for developing the SEA dairy category vision and strategy and driving planning, creative development, and execution of marketing across brands and channels, and leading capability development for the function inside Fonterra. Suryavanshee is also driving digital transformation and portfolio expansion to ensure Fonterra remains competitive in the future.

Meanwhile, Kartika Guerrero has joined Fonterra as Digital Media Director for Southeast Asia in May and reports to the Southeast Asia GM for Marketing and will drive consumer engagement across Fonterra Brands through digital enablers and by driving a
holistic brand-centric digital strategy.
This is a regional position that will oversee all the key markets that Fonterra is present in
and will be responsible for establishing the Centre of Excellence for Digital Marketing in SEA. She will partner with markets, to define and implement best practices across digital media to improve the effectiveness of our media spend, build partnerships with publishers and agencies that we can leverage across SEA, and advise and support on digital campaign deployment across brands.

Kartika has over 13 years of experience in the dynamic world of Digital Marketing Creative agency. She has handled brands like Loreal, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Wyeth across digital marketing and CRM in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. Before joining Fonterra, Kartika was the head of Digital Hub U-Studio for Unilever Indonesia where she built and implemented Unilever Indonesia’s Data Driven Marketing capabilities putting Indonesia as top 2 in 1st party data leverage and drove U-Studio Indonesia to be top 8 globally.
