KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Ogilvy Malaysia has announced the appointment of Debdan Banerjee as Head of Integrated Strategy. With dual reporting lines to Chief Executive Ogilvy Malaysia, Nizwani Shahar, and Jason Hill Chief Strategy Officer Ogilvy Singapore & Malaysia, Banerjee has been tasked with leading the office’s strategy department, ensuring strategic integrity and effectiveness across all clients and capabilities.

Debdan’s appointment follows the recent hires of Alicia Yap as Executive Group Director and Moheeta Tamrakar as Director of Experience and Social, as part of the agency’s wider transformation agenda. Debdan will act as the membrane between business, brand, and digital strategy.

Nizwani Shahar, Chief Executive of Ogilvy Malaysia, said: “Although we continue to see challenges in Malaysia’s growth trajectory, our goal remains the same. We continue to position commerce, agile content, and data-driven marketing at the center of our offering backed with the talent and creative firepower that produces results for our clients.”

Not only to ensure we can deliver on the business and brand needs of existing and new clients, but also to broaden our strategy purview to include aspects of experience which would include digital marketing, commerce, personalisation, and more. To do this, Debdan will be working with our extended strategy team in Singapore and the rest of the Strategy Community in our network.”

Debdan has 21 years of work experience on both the agency and client-side. He joins Ogilvy from Entropia and prior to that, spent a large part of his career at Leo Burnett. He worked on brands such as Petronas, Tenaga Nasional, AIA, Dutch Lady, Samsung, YES! Mobile and more.
