People: OMG Malaysia strengthens agency with key appointments

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Omnicom Media Group (OMG) today announced the appointments of two key leadership positions across its agency in Malaysia. The appointments accentuate the agency’s vision to continue strengthening its presence within the region as a media agency powerhouse.

Kiron Kesav has been promoted from General Manager of PHD Malaysia to Chief Strategy Officer of OMG Malaysia. This elevation will see Kiron guiding OMG’s agencies towards pushing forward its strategic planning products, business solutions for clients and thought leadership and innovations for the network. His previous experience of leading PHD Malaysia’s Strategy and Planning team, as well as marketing for the agency, will greatly contribute to his new role as Chief Strategy Officer. Kiron’s promotion will provide the agency with the expertise needed to serve its clients and create a positive impact for the agency locally and regionally.

Mayank Bhatnagar has been appointed as Managing Director of OMD Malaysia. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Mayank has also managed several blue-chip clients across various markets such as India, Malaysia, and Singapore. He previously led Malaysia’s biggest advertiser Nestle, as well as headed digital trading and investment across Mindshare Malaysia. This appointment will see him overseeing OMD Malaysia, ensuring the continuous growth and momentum of the agency and its client accounts. Mayank’s familiarity with the Malaysian market, in addition to the knowledge and capabilities he has with managing it, makes him an ideal candidate to lead OMD Malaysia towards greater heights.

Kiron and Mayank will report to Eileen Ooi and will officially assume their new roles with immediate effect. Eileen Ooi will also be overseeing PHD Malaysia in the interim.
