SHANGHAI, CHINA – Award-winning media agency PHD, part of Omnicom Media Group, today announced the promotion of Joey Zhao to the role of Chief Executive Officer of its China operations. Prior to this elevation, Zhao was PHD China’s Chief Operating Officer where he was instrumental in driving growth, operational efficiency and business transformation of the agency in the mainland, culminating in PHD China clinching the highly coveted media business for SAIC Volkswagen at the end of last year.
With over 15 years of management experience in a variety of industries and categories under his belt, Zhao honed his business acumen having worked for the Shanghai government, Shanghai Media Group as well as blue-chip multinational companies, consultancies and law firms in China. Prior to joining PHD China as Chief Operating Officer, Zhao was a partner at an investment group with a focus on marketing technology for China’s advertising, media, and communications industries.
