MANILA, PHILIPPINES — After three and a half fruitful years, Rey Tiempo leaves his role of Chief Creative Officer at VMLY&R Philippines.
Rey has been instrumental in the transition from Y&R to VMLY&R, driving its full digital and connected experience offerings to some of its biggest multinational as well as local brands like Colgate Palmolive, Caltex, and Ford.
He leaves the agency after a series of award wins and recognitions: golds at the Kidlat Awards, Araw Values, and metals at the Adobo Design Awards, Tambuli, as well as metal wins in the international awards circuit like Spikes Asia and recognition from Adstars and Gerety.
As President of the Creative Guild, Rey put together a team of the industry’s biggest creative leaders and together with the 4As, spearheaded the launch of CreativeFest Now! – its first ever online event celebrating creativity in the time of the pandemic.
Rey was also instrumental in bringing gaming to the forefront of the agency expertise, with its work for Minesky and also for representing the network at the Cannes Lions Live sessions as a resource person on the many opportunities of gaming and branding.
“I am sad to say goodbye to VMLY&R and the incredible teams I’ve worked with. I have grown through my years at the agency but I know that the time is right to say goodbye. And the time is now, to take my creative career to the next level. I am beyond excited for the future, and I shall greet you all when we’re there!” Tiempo said.
Valerie Madon, VMLY&R CCO and Tiempo’s functional manager, said, “Rey has been a cornerstone of the agency during his time here. He helped grow our reputation in The Philippines and across the region, guiding his teams to constantly think bigger, approaching client problems with a creative and unique point of view. We wish him the best for his next steps and look forward to seeing how he continues to shape the industry!”
