LONDON, UK — Dubit, the rapid-growth metaverse developer of branded games, experiences, and events, has appointed Regine Weiner as its new Head of Studio. Regine joins the company from Mediatonic Games, part of Epic Games.
Regine was most recently Director of Player Experience at Mediatonic, where she worked on party royale smash hit, Fall Guys. Over two decades, she has carved out an enviable career within video gaming and entertainment, including at Space Ape Games, where she supported and generated revenue for titles including Fastlane, Rival Kingdoms, Samurai Siege, and Transformers: Earth Wars. Regine’s previous experience also includes senior roles at IP owners Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney.
Matthew Warneford, CEO and Founder of Dubit, commented, “At Dubit we are assembling the most talented and credible team from the worlds of video gaming and metaverse world-building. Our crazy ambitious growth strategy necessitates us having the very best people onboard, empowering us to scale effectively across the world, both physical and virtual. Regine’s video games industry expertise and wealth of experience with leading IPs and brands, gleaned from working with companies like Epic Games and Disney, will prove invaluable to our business as we reach dizzying new heights.”
Regine shared, “I’m thrilled to have joined Dubit at a time of rapid growth, both for the company and the wider metaverse industry. Brands are racing to platforms like Fortnite and Roblox and looking for the very best consultancy, guidance, and creative and technical capabilities to create unique experiences that their audience will engage with and value. That’s where we come in. There’s a wealth of development talent within Dubit that stands us in good stead to be the premier metaverse studio in 2023.”
Dubit doubled in size in 2022 while creating metaverse experiences for Nickelodeon, UEFA, The BRITs, The Grammys, Charli XCX, and Samsung. It recently announced the launch of Loooptopia, a Roblox world for clothing manufacturer H&M, and a groundbreaking musical experience in Roblox with K-pop sensation NCT 127. With Regine on board, Dubit expects to surpass a headcount of 200 Roblox, Fortnite, and metaverse developers this year.
