PATTAYA — It all started with a Facebook tag from her former professor at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. “My old professor tagged me on Facebook that ADFEST was calling for entries for the Fabuous Four. It was Christmas vacation, I had time to write so I thought I’d give it a shot,” said 21-year-old director for We Love Motion Inc., Anya Zulueta.

Not long after she submitted her script, she received an e-mail informing her that her entry was selected as one of the Fabulous Four, “I was so happy, I jumped up and down my room.” Anya is the only Filipino among the short film finalists.

Her short film, My Neighbor 2014, about a little girl’s friendship with another young girl from across the building, debuted at ADFEST 2015 along with three other short films by fellow young directors. The Short Films by the Fabulous Four is under the Film Craft category headed by Finch Executive Producer Michael Hillard.

This wasn’t the first time that a work by Anya has been screened internationally. Her college thesis, “The Bicycle Crew” has been screened in different countries including the prestigious Manhattan Film Festival. She also recently directed a music video for the song, “Leaving Soon” by the Yolanda Moon, which is one of Anya’s favorite bands.

Anya may not have won the competition but she said that it was already a privilege and an honor to be chosen as one of the four finalists for one of the biggest advertising festivals in the region.
