MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Two powerhouse creatives are coming to Manila in May as adobo magazine welcomes them as the keynote speakers for this year’s THINK DESIGN THINK Adobo Design Conference on May 10 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premier: Tim Kobe, Chief Executive Officer of design firm Eight Inc, and Paolo Malabuyo, Director of User Experience at Google Silicon Valley.

Paolo Malabuyo currently leads an international team of designers and researchers responsible for enabling a healthy ecosystem for Google and its billions of users worldwide. Apart from this, Malabuyo is an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley, where he teaches Human-Computer Interaction & User Experience.

A rich background in art and design has expanded Malabuyo’s creative limits: he studied art and design at Carnegie Mellon University, where he would later join the faculty as adjunct professor, and spent a semester abroad at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, studying Chinese language, history, art and culture. He also completed a semester of the Design MBA program at the California College of the Arts before leaving to take on the role of Vice President of Advanced User Experience Design at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America.

Born in the Philippines, he has always had an eye for design, competing in national Lego competitions before eventually moving to the United States after spending the rest of his childhood around Southeast Asia. He has also shared his expertise through speaking engagements around the world, including several Interaction Design Association (IXDA) conferences in Oslo, New York and Amsterdam, the SXSW 2016 in Austin, IDG’s User Experience World 2014 in Seoul, and more.
