MANILA – P&G’s Pepe Torres is set to take up the post of regional brand marketing manager for Asia Pacific at Airbnb, starting January 2015. He will be based in Singapore.

Torres spent the last seven years with P&G, starting in Singapore first as regional assistant brand manager at Safeguard, and then as global assistant brand manager for SK-II, before being relocated to the Philippines to take over the hair care portfolio as country marketing manager.

As country marketing manager for hair care at P&G, Torres led the development and execution of the multi-awarded ‘Labels Against Women’ digital campaign for Pantene by BBDO Guerrero. The campaign, which has gone viral globally, has been adopted as the brand’s global campaign platform.

“I have nothing but gratitude for the amazing time I’ve had in P&G where I’ve been privileged to learn the very best in brand building fundamentals, strategic thinking, and organizational leadership,” Torres told adobo.

“But the Airbnb opportunity proved to be irresistible. It’s a fantastic way to put myself out of my comfort zone because it’s a startup environment that has its feet planted in technology and hospitality,” he said. “Our CMO Jonathan Mildenhall is putting together a stellar marketing team and I know I will be challenged to deliver the best work of my career yet.”

“Finally, I’m just tremendously passionate about the brand which I’ve been using heavily in my travels, and its purpose of helping people feel like thy can belong anywhere. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he added.
