MANILA – Alistair Wood has joined Publicis Manila as chief creative officer, announcing his new position after taking over quietly in mid-2014.
Working with chief executive officer Matec Villanueva, Wood took over the role held by Marlon Rivera, who left the agency for other creative pursuits.
Wood’s role in the agency is “to be an agent of change,” to do good work to help the business, and to promote quickly.
Taking on the role last year, he was given a blank canvas after movement of senior talents such as Peachy Bretana and Jayel Ladioray.
On his relationship with Villaneva, Wood said, ”she let’s me go on with it. Matec has energy and remarkable interpersonal skills. Charismatic. A victim of her own success.”
As a creative director, Wood has worked in London, Asia and the US, picking up awards at all the major shows along the way – including D&AD, One Show and Cannes – overseeing various global accounts at JWT, Leo Burnett and most recently, Cheil in Seoul, where he was ECD.
