Mr Alex Burnard, Creative Director of Crispin Porter + Bogusky Miami, has been appointed Jury President of 360 Lotus & INNOVA Lotus and Mr Ben Welsh, Executive Creative Director of M&C Saatchi Sydney, has been appointed Jury President of Press & Poster Lotus. Being jury presidents, they will lead the judging panels for all entries in their respective categories.

For the last eleven years Mr Burnard has lived and worked at Crispin Porter + Bogusky. His work for GT Bicycles, Molson beer, the launch of the MINI Cooper, IKEA and several other clients has left him with a ton of awards from basically every awards show that exists. More importantly, his work has been talked about in Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, 60 Minutes, ESPN SportsCenter and countless other media channels. During his time at CP+B the agency has been named Agency of the Year four times by Ad Age’s Creativity magazine. In 2004, Mr Burnard and his partner Dave Schiff were promoted to Creative Directors of the MAXIM account. Today, Mr Burnard is a Creative Director on the Coca-Cola Zero and Nike accounts. He also teaches at the Miami Ad School and has lectured around the world. His latest project is the creation of Hoopla, a book about Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Mr Welsh, who has over 18 years’ experience in advertising, replaces Mr Toby Talbot, who is not able to come to ADFEST 2008, to take up the duty as the Jury President of Press & Poster Lotus. Mr Burnard replaces Mr Rob Strasberg, who is unable to come to ADFEST this year, to become the Jury President of 360 Lotus & INNOVA Lotus.
Mr Welsh became creative director of M&C Saatchi in 2003 after joining the company as a senior writer in 1997. He leads a team of 40 people working across direct, retail and above the line media. Over the years his work has won numerous Australian and international creative awards. He has served on numerous creative juries and industry bodies, including judging at Cannes and a stint as Chairman of AWARD (Australasia Writers and Art Directors). As a writer his work has appeared in D&AD, Cannes and New York Festival.
ADFEST 2008 will be held from March 26 to 29, 2008 at Peach Conventional Exhibition Centre, Pattaya, Thailand.
