MANILA – Bates CHI&Partners has formally announced two major appointments in the Philippines, promoting Leah Magdaluyo and Noah Valdez to the posts of General Manager and Executive Creative Director of Bates CHI&Partners Manila respectively.
Magdaluyo (left) joined what was then Bates 141 in 2009 as Group Account Director and rose up to the post of Client Service Director for the joint venture Bates CHI & Partners Manila formed in 2012. She brings to the table 20 years of experience and has previously worked with tops agencies JWT and Lowe.
Valdez (right), her creative partner, has been in the agency for seven years. In that time, Bates won regional awards for outstanding work to include a Spikes Asia Media Gold and two AWARD Awards (Outdoor Bronze and Direct Marketing Bronze) for Tulakabataan “Vote for Kids” (2010-2011).
He joined Bates in 2008 as Senior Art Director, after a five-year stint as Art Director with DDB Philippines, and was promoted to Creative Director in 2012. At DDB, Noah is credited with a Bronze metal for his work on Pinoyvote “Ink” at the 2007 Araw Values Awards and Kidlat Awards; and with a 2006 Catholic Mass Media Gold Award and Araw Values Silver Award for Radyo Veritas’ “Tutulungan Ka Niya” .
Since they took the helm of Bates CHI, the agency has delivered double-digit growth and expanded its client portfolio to include more international and local brands such as Bonakid Pre-School (Wyeth); Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell (Philippine Pizza Inc.) , LBC X (The Shipping Cart, TheShop.ph), Zest-O Corporation (Zest-O, BIG250, Quickchow Instant Mami) and Asia Brewery (Brew Kettle, Asahi Beer).
