SINGAPORE — Bea Atienza has joined Wunderman’s planning department as strategic planning director to handle both new businesses and the agency’s existing roster. This includes clients such as Procter & Gamble and Microsoft, and will see Atienza working her magic across the CRM, social, mobile and digital fields.

Atienza reports to Steven Power, Wunderman Singapore’s general manager.

“Bea is a seasoned planner whose wealth of experience will be the perfect addition to our senior team,” Power said. “She will work closely with our top leadership to bring an even tighter blend of creativity, data and strategy to our clients. The full Wunderman experience should be one that integrates all three for the best innovative solutions.”

Leading a team of planners from Wunderman and AdPeople Singapore, a Wunderman network company, Atienza will be looking to develop thought leadership based on the agency’s best work and also raise the profile of the strategic function through integration with the data and creative departments.

“I believe data and technology will change how we do planning and I’m thrilled to be part of an agency that has a strong core in these aspects,” Atienza said. “This is a big role but I’m excited to take on the challenge—part of the fun of working in an agency is that you’re constantly being asked to learn and master new markets, brands and categories.”

Atienza is no stranger to the agency life across Asia. While at McCann Shanghai, she spearheaded regional digital strategy for Chevrolet across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and South Africa. Prior to that, she was head of strategic planning at McCann MRM in Manila. During her tenure with McCann, she also worked extensively with its Singapore and Indonesia offices as a regional social strategist.

In 2012, Atienza was crowned Campaign Asia’s Account Planner of the Year SEA. She was also a speaker at the Araw 4A’s Digital Session in 2013. In 2014, Atienza nabbed the Young Marketing Masters Award by Mansmith Philippines.

Atienza will be based in Singapore.
