Bench welcomes AlDub aboard

MANILA – Joining the AlDub craze is the Philippines’ leading clothing brand, Bench.

“We have been wanting to get AlDub since the beginning, but their management was very careful about their endorsement deals at first, so they asked us to wait,” Ben Chan says in an interview with adobo magazine.

He says that the power couple perfectly fits Bench’s brand profile, particularly their ongoing Love Local campaign. “Nothing captures Pinoy pop culture better than the 40-year old institution that is Eat Bulaga,” he adds. For Chan, the AlDub phenomenon is an example of Filipino originality, ingenuity, and creative talent. The fact that it caught the attention of BBC, Buzzfeed, and Reader’s Digest shows the phenomenal love team’s global appeal.

When asked regarding which Bench brand will Alden and Maine represent, Chan says Alden will focus on Bench Fix hair products while Maine will be the poster girl for Bench women’s apparel.

“I see long-term potential with Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. It is not just an investment in the AlDub phenomenon right now, but in the talent and appeal of Alden and Maine as a team and individually. I think that Alden will be a popular, well-liked heartthrob and matinee idol for many more years, and Maine will keep improving as a comedienne. Ideally, it would be great for them to be part of Bench’s roster of long-term brand ambassadors and to continue to be identified with Bench as their careers flourish and evolve,” Chan concludes.
