BIR launches 2015 tax campaign in Northern Mindanao

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has launched the 2015 tax campaign in Revenue Region (RR) 16 covering Northern Mindanao.

Part of the campaign is the unveiling of is year’s tax campaign logo and theme “Angat Pa, Pinas!” Created by JWT Manila, the campaign logo takes cues from the colors of the Philippine flag using arrows that show an upward movement to denote progress and positive change for the country.

The BIR also introduced this two-minute jingle described which it described as “anthemic, providing a battle cry for Filipinos to work for a better tomorrow.”

“Angat Pa, Pinas” is under the Public Awareness Campaign (PAC) program of the Revenue Administration Reform Project (RARP). The BIR is implementing this project with the support of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines (MCA-P).

During it first official announcement in February, Commissioner of Internal Revenue Kim Jacinto-Henares, said that, as in previous years, she wants this year’s tax campaign to instill patriotism among Filipinos. 

“If we do our share in the form of paying the correct taxes, we will all be part of nation-building and in uplifting the lives of our countrymen,” she adds.

The BIR has a collection goal of P1.704 trillion for 2015 compared to P1.456 trillion in 2014.
