MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Residents from Cebu and Davao Cities can now responsibly dispose of their plastic waste through the SM Cares and Plastic Credit Exchange‘s (PCX) Plastic Waste Collection Program located in SM City Cebu and SM City Davao.

Ten SM Malls now serve as collection points for almost all types of plastic and Styrofoam waste. The program aims to divert plastic waste from landfills and bodies of water by collecting them straight from households for co-processing, upcycling, or recycling. To date, SM and PCX have collected more than 13,271 kilograms of plastic waste from the participating SM Malls, similar to diverting 21,442 kilograms of CO2, equivalent to 355 tree seedlings grown for ten years.

The Plastic Waste Collection Program is sponsored by Nestle Philippines and supported by Watsons, Procter & Gamble, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers Philippines. To know more about the mall venues and schedule of plastic waste collection, you may visit https://www.smsupermalls.com/smcares/
