MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Coca-Cola Philippines is joining the band of brands and companies taking an active stand to help alleviate concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. In a letter addressed to their partners, Coca-Cola Philippines President & General Manager Winn Everhart announces that they are reallocating all commercial advertising space and budgets towards supporting relief and response efforts for the most affected communities.
In the letter, Everhart wrote: “We are deeply concerned about the growing impact of COVID-19 in the Philippines, especially in the most vulnerable parts of our communities. These are challenging times for all of us, and we are fully committed to doing everything we can to help.”
The total amount reaches up to 150 million pesos, and the following efforts have been deployed beginning this week:
- Providing hydration needs for health workers & front liners every day. We have started delivering beverages to public & private hospitals and will continue as needed.
- Providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to health workers in partnership with TOWNS Foundation and UP Medical Foundation.
- Delivering food packs to the most vulnerable families & communities. We are working with our NGO partners such as Caritas Manila & Rise Against Hunger to make this happen.
- Supporting our distribution partners who serve small sari-sari-stores and carinderias, through expanded credit terms
The company also says that this will be the beginning of their active measures to help the country cope with COVID-19, and will be exploring more solutions as they mobilize their resources.
Everhart added: “We thank all our partners for understanding this decision. Together, we can make a difference.”
