MANILA, PHILIPPINES – #KapamilyaTayoLahat was born in the wake of the non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise, the biggest immediate repercussion was the looming retrenchment of up to 11,000 employees. This citizen’s initiative was the brainchild of Lawin Bulatao and his team at NJYN

“We realised that with so many of the ABS-CBN people hurt and stunned in the aftermath of the ruling, there’d be so many people feeling lost and helpless. We decided to help out. What started out as a status message became a Facebook group and is well on its way to becoming a website” shares Lawin.

Starting out with just 3 people a little over a week ago (as of this writing) #KapamilyaTayoLahat now has 4,871 members and has already gathered over 3,000 jobs. It also has a working team of admins drawn from different groups, including ex-ABS-CBN people, former government officials, and Pinoy professionals based abroad. And a fair bit of star power as well.

#KapamilyaTayoLahat was a timely response offering hope at a moment it was much needed. It continues to be that as it is now already reaching out to other Kapamilya groups, is in talks with ABS-CBN HR and management, has gotten featured in TV Patrol, and is preparing additional services for the group in the form of job fairs, career talks, and skills building workshops.

“We’ve received a lot of thanks, a lot of gratitude over the past week, and that’s great, really. But it just reminds me of how much more needs to be done. We’re happy to be able to use our talents as communicators to not just send out a message but to bring people together in common cause at the time it’s most needed” Bulatao concludes.

NJYN ignites social movement to support ABS-CBN’s displaced workers

#KapamilyaTayoLahat is a Facebook group dedicated to finding and collecting job opportunities for the 11,000 displaced by the non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise. Founded by NJYN CEO Lawin Bulatao, the group has been able to be a glimmer of hope at a time it’s most needed.
