MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Globe myBusiness is rolling out the second phase of the initiative “HEROES for HEROES,” a program that connects frontliners with its clients from the food industry.
“As the fight against the coronavirus continues, Globe stands in support alongside every health worker and front liner who continue to fulfill their everyday duties despite the risks in order to serve the public,” said Ernest Cu, president and CEO of Globe.
“HEROES for HEROES” aims to extend aid to healthcare frontliners around the country who have been leading the fight against COVID-19, by distributing free meal packages produced by partner food SMEs to select partner hospitals.
So far, the partnership between industries has helped 25 hospitals and has brought business back to 11 restaurants and logistic businesses throughout the last week of March until early April.
Now on its second run for HEROES for HEROES, Globe myBusiness has supported over ten additional hospitals, tapping 20 food establishments including Susie’s Cuisine, 121 Grille and Restaurant, Veggiebite, and Oldtown Lechon to provide meals for frontliners at De La Salle Dasmariñas City Medical Center in Cavite, Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Loving Mother General Hospital in Pampanga, and Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, among others.
The meals were sponsored by Globe myBusiness and were delivered to each hospital daily for five days.
Apart from providing meals, Globe myBusiness tapped its partner HTP Clothing to supply hospitals with PPEs, while also donating other essentials like surgical face masks, surgical gloves, and disinfectant alcohols.
