The creative neighbourhood of Maginhawa x Malingap continues to thrive with a brand new space for makers by makers. Make Space Today is a hub that features a Space, Shop, and Skills development program to support and serve the creative community. It’s a place to work, create, experiment, and learn.
Curious shoppers are drawn to multiple shelves of handmade products by the 50+ members of Make Space Today’s Retail Incubator. The shop features start-up sellers who are new in the creative retail business and seasoned retailers who want to explore new product lines and spinoff brands.
Inside, there is a Co-Making Space, where creative freelancers can book a desk for P550 per day, with access to a library of art and design books, machines and tools to help develop new products, a photoshoot area, and craft supplies to play and experiment with.
On weekends, there are business workshops that aim to help small creative businesses and creative entrepreneurs be more sustainable and profitable. Workshops on Product Pricing, Visual Merchandising, Digital Products, Packaging Design, and Branding are guided sessions that focus on different aspects of a business plan.
Make Space Today is run by an all-female team of makers and artists in different fields: Roma Agsunod and Maan Agsalud of Common Room & PopJunkLove, Alessa Lanot of Life After Breakfast, Andrea Arancon of Craft Carrot, illustrator and designer June Digan, Mikko Sumulong of Mix Fonts, Catherine Limson of Bedazzled & Luna Maia, and AJ Pangilinan of Sunday Paper Co. After collaborating on multiple projects last year, the team decided to build the space of their dreams.
Make Space Today is located inside Malingap Central Food Hall, at #40 Malingap Street, Teachers Village, Quezon City. Space hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 9pm. Book a Day Pass, Workshop or Membership Package at www.makespacetoday.com.
