Manila, Philippines – MullenLowe Group Philippines releases an official statement on their social media account on the recent ABS-CBN shutdown. The agency spoke out on behalf of the economic impact of the shutdown to the advertising industry stating, “The ABS-CBN shutdown is a blow. We have no political affiliation as an organization. But we are speaking up because our livelihood is at stake.”
In context to the history of broadcast and advertising, the agency commented, “Back in the day, radio announcers used to cut to commercial break with “hanapbuhay po muna tayo (time to make a living).” The businesses of broadcast and advertising have been intertwined from the beginning. Covid-19 has not spared the advertising industry, but its leaders are trying to hold the line and keep its people – so when business opens up again, as it must, we will be ready.”
