Award-winning Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, The Glenrothes has unveiled a striking new range of single malt whiskies, marking its return to Edrington ownership.
The Soleo Collection features entirely new whiskies: 12 Years Old, Whisky Maker’s Cut, 18 Years Old and 25 Years Old. This vibrant collection signals a move to predominantly age statement single malts, from the existing Vintage and Reserve portfolio. From a light and subtle 12 year old to the richer, more intense 25 year old, this collection promises a fulfilling multi-dimensional flavour experience.
The creation of a single malt whisky goes through many stages. From the selection of the right raw materials, to the time taken to slowly mature the spirit in the oak casks; each step plays its part in shaping every drop.
Inspired by the most defining part of the journey; sherry seasoning, this collection follows the grape as it makes its way to becoming sherry, and onwards to the seasoning of our oak casks. As the grape evolves, it creates its own distinctive colour palette which we have used as our canvas as we celebrate sherry and the role it plays in shaping our single malt.
The Soleo process has given its name to this collection as it brings together time, nature and tradition. After the harvest, the rays of the hot Andalusian sun beat down on the grapes, slowly absorbing the energy, changing the grapes from bright green and yellow to deep purple – indicating the optimum time to start the sherry making process. Subsequently, the sherry created is defined by these grapes, which in turn shapes the casks which define The Glenrothes.

These are the core whiskies available in the Philippine market:
- 12 YEARS OLD (40%) – the classic house style with notes of vanilla, melon and cinnamon
- WHISKY MAKER’S CUT (48.8%) – inspired and shaped by the hand of the Master Whisky Maker, using 100% first fill sherry seasoned casks, bottled at the whisky maker’s preferred strength. Vanilla, orange peel and nutmeg taste
- 18 YEARS OLD (43%) – a complex and well-rounded expression with note of vanilla, pear and fresh ginger
- 25 YEARS OLD (43%) – predominantly first fill sherry seasoned casks, this expression delivers heady woody notes yet also lighter notes, with salted caramel, mango and coriander seeds to taste
About The Glenrothes
Since 1879, The Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside town of Rothes has quietly and carefully produced remarkable single malt whisky. Today we make our whisky the same way as we always have. We draw water from five local water sources and use it throughout production, including as part of our particularly slow distillation process which shapes the distinctive style and character of the spirit. We conclude with maturation in sherry seasoned oak casks from the Jerez region in Southern Spain, a defining feature of The Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky.
