MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Zilingo, one of the fastest-growing technology platforms, in association with Caritas Manila Foundation and Good Neighbors Philippines has launched a fundraising campaign, ‘Tugon Para Sa Luzon’ in an attempt to lend a helping hand to fellow Filipinos affected by the Typhoon Ulysses that hit the Northern part of Luzon on November 11. Over 200,000 families and approximately 1,110,910 persons in 3,811 barangays in Regions I, II, Ill, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, NCR, and CAR were displaced by the disaster.
As a part of the initiative, citizens can come together to assist the Filipino community at large by donating vouchers valued at Php 100, Php 300, Php 500, and Php 1000 on www.zilingotrade.com or www.zilingoshopping.com.
Funds raised from the not-for-profit drive will be donated to Caritas Manila Foundation and Good Neighbors Philippines which will then be used to purchase necessary provisions like instant and ready-to-make food items, water, medicines, toiletries, maternal and child healthcare supplies among others. These items will be distributed to select municipalities in Metro Manila, like Quezon City, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela, to name a few.
“Despite the challenges of social distancing and limited resources during this difficult time, this eDonation drive allows the people to come together, contribute and provide assistance even in a small way to our displaced Filipino community,” says Shiela Mauricio, Country Manager, Zilingo Philippines. “Through this campaign, we are trying to leverage Zilingo’s online platforms to the best of its ability to reach out and help those who are facing the double whammy of the pandemic, and now the typhoon,” she added.
Zilingo believes that a little help goes a long way; and everyone’s generosity, kindness, solidarity and the ability to work together coherently during this critical moment, is of foremost importance now.
