MANILA – At their annual Christmas party earlier this week, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno named Bryan Supan Siy as the agency’s newest Executive Creative Director. With multiple award-winning campaigns and initiatives to his name, along with a well-known commitment to excellence, Siy is eminently-suited to the role.
On the promotion, TBWA\SMP Chief Creative Officer Melvin Mangada shared, “Bryan’s genius is in his interest in data and numbers combined with insightful creative work. His new position shall allow him to share his talent with more clients, the industry and the agency team.”
Indeed, Siy’s career spans 15 years and counting, with various local, regional, and international awards to his name from festivals such as Cannes Lions, One Show, Clio Awards, Spikes, D&AD, New York Film Festivals, AWARD awards, AdStars, and Adfest. For TBWA, Siy has handled all of the agency’s most important accounts, including Del Monte, Boysen, Alaska and Champion.
One of Siy’s most recent works is the Cannes-, Spikes-, and Clio-winning, ‘Dirty Water Color’ initiative, which raised funds and awareness for Bantay Kalikasan’s efforts to restore the Pasig River by having noted artists paint works of art using only the polluted water of its estuaries.
In addition to his creative duties, Siy serves as headmaster of TBWA\cademy, the agency’s in-house training and development program for students to get hands-on experience in the world of advertising. Recently, the program was expanded to include a Master Class for professors and practitioners looking to polish their knowledge of modern agency practices.
“What is admirable in Bryan is his deep understanding of human psychology from where he draws insights that produce inspiring human stories,” says TBWA\SMP Managing Partner Jimmy Santiago. “He applies the same knowledge in TBWA\cademy – under his leadership, the Academy has mentored and nurtured a good number of future creative leaders, some of whom are currently doing well in TBWA\SMP.”
Regardless of what surprises 2017 holds, Bryan Siy will represent the agency well in fulfilling its mandate to be the country’s leading Disruption house.
