MANILA—Imagine yourself standing beneath the cherry blossom tree wishing you were in the streets of Tokyo. With the newest offerings of McDonald’s, you can have a taste of the land of the rising sun within your reach!

McDo PH launched their newest Flavors of Japan offerings as a treat to fans of Japanese culture and cuisine. Starting from February 27, customers can enjoy four new Japanese-inspired treats in all McDonald’s stores for a limited time only.

From Tokyo to Manila: #McDoFlavorsofJapan

The products included in the #McDoFlavorsofJapan offerings are the Ebi Burger, Teriyaki Samurai Burger, Nori Shake Shake Fries, and Strawberry Sakura McFloat.

Ebi Burger

The Ebi Burger brings the lusciousness of ebi tempura in a burger. Instead of the usual meat patty, this burger features tempura-coated shrimp as the star of the dish.

Teriyaki Samurai Burger

Experience the sweetness of teriyaki in one bite with the Teriyaki Samurai Burger. Opposites attract as the taste of 100% pure beef and teriyaki sauce is married to mayo and lettuce.

Nori Shake Shake Fries

Seaweed lovers will enjoy the unique blend of McDonald’s fries and nori powder with the Nori Shake Shake Fries. It sounds like an unusual pairing, but it’s definitely a winning combination.

Strawberry Sakura McFloat

The Strawberry Sakura McFloat earned the attention of foodies and Instagrammers because of its pretty visuals and flavor. The sweetness of sakura syrup, strawberry, cherry, and vanilla is the perfect ending to your Japanese-inspired meal.

The Sakura Meal is the way to go if you want to try all of Mcdo’s Japanese-inspired meals. You can choose between the Ebi Burger and Teriyaki Samurai Burger, along with Nori Shake Shake Fries and Strawberry Sakura McFloat.

Experiencing Japan is the priority of McDo PH with their #McDoFlavorsOfJapan products. According to Christina Lao, Marketing Director of McDo PH, customers have been requesting for these products to be brought to the Philippine market since it’s available around the world.

“We’ve listened (to the customers), there’s really a clamor for this kind of food and it’s really a good opportunity for us to bring it in … another thing is that one of the favorite destinations for Filipinos is Japan,” Lao explained.

McDo as a Global Brand

Since McDonald’s has made its mark as a global footprint, the company aims to continue delivering a global experience to its Filipino customers. “We’ve started with McDonald’s NXTGEN and now with the Flavors of Japan, we’re assuring you that we’ll bring you more global flavors and more (global experiences) to our customers in the Philippines so you don’t have to travel outside,” Lao stated.

When asked about the future plans of McDo PH, Lao explained that the company will continue making their customers as their top priority. She added, “We will always look out for untapped and unmet needs from flavors, services, to experiences because it’s a McDonald’s trait to actually listen to them.”
