Asia Pacific – Cannes Lions Grand Prix winner Chris Baylis will head the jury at the 3rd edition of the Digital Media Awards slated for November 16 at the Grand Millennium Beijing in China, as reported in Media.

Baylis, Tribal DDB Amsterdam executive creative director, won for client Philips Electronics “Carousel” this year.  Like Baylis, the jury members are industry experts, tasked to rate top digital marketing and communications campaigns in the region to award outstanding creativity and effectiveness.

Baylis has been in the industry for more than 10 years and, at Tribal, manages the digital and creative business of clients including Philips and several Unilever brands. Ã¢â‚¬Â¨Ã¢â‚¬Â¨“The Digital Media Awards are more relevant than ever this year with clients’ belts on the highest notch, creativity and effectiveness must work together to prove the value of digital marketing and communications to weary marketing directors. We all know digital can deliver in ways that traditional can’t through innovative use of media, creative and technology. We want to see it in action,” says the ten-year digital veteran.

Despite the last year proving most challenging to all forms of advertising and marketing, signs indicate that the digital sector is faring better than other media.  In Asia, China’s online sector has seen steady growth, while in Singapore the creation of the Interactive Advertising Bureau supports the willingness of business to invest in digital.

“For clients, the world over, the emphasis has shifted from bought media to earned media. For me, any innovative use of earned media and emerging digital communities by agencies for brands is doing the right thing with digital," adds Baylis.
