MANILA — Canva has launched a marketplace allowing professional graphic designers to contribute layouts and earn royalties every time their designs are purchased. The announcement was made Sunday at the Manila Canva Creatives conference for designers.
The layout design marketplace provides a new way for designers to earn money by creating designs that Canva’s more than 1 millions users can use. Designers are also able to upload their own photos, vectors and illustrations and offer them for sale in Canva’s library.
“We’re excited to work with the world’s best graphic designers to empower the rest of the world to create beautiful graphics,” said Canva CEO Melanie Perkins.
“Traditionally designers have only been able to sell their stock layouts to other people who have access to the professional design tools. However with Canva, they can now design layouts for everyone to use.”
The launch of the Canva layout marketplace provides Canva users with greater choice of layouts for their designs, and provide professional designers with a new way to make money from their work.
“More than 430,000 designs are now created in Canva every week, opening a huge market for professional designers to sell layouts that everyone can use.”
Designers can create layouts for more than twenty Web and print design types, including social media posts, presentations, posters, business cards, invitations and more. New design types are being added every week.
Contributor accounts will be rolled out to a limited group of designers from today. Professional designers can apply to contribute at http://canva.com/designers.
