ASIA – Commuting may not be the Filipinos’ most favorite thing but there could just be a reason for that activity to go up a notch now that Cash Cab will soon be driving around the congested streets of Manila.
activeTV Asia, an international production house based in Singapore, has secured the Philippines’ rights to the Emmy Award winning Cash Cab format for a launch later this year. Cash Cab is a game show on wheels in which passengers get on a seemingly ordinary cab and get off with cold cash in hand once they answer the driver’s quiz correctly.
“We are delighted to license the format to activeTV for the Philippines, after the great job they did on Cash Cab Asia for AXN, and we are sure the Philippines version will be even more successful,” said Sabrina Duguet, Senior Vice President of International Format Sales for All3Media.
We have no word yet on who the driver and host will be but we’re definitely excited to know very soon.
“We love producingCash Cab, it’s a great series and we are thrilled to secure these rights from All3Media and hit the road again. I believe it will be an exciting ride for the Philippines,” shared President of activeTV, Michael McKay.
