With the goal to reach the mass market segment, Cherry Mobile will be offering the prepaid sim cards along with their phone bundles, with the cheapest bundle available for as low as P399.00.

“With competition in the mobile industry getting more intense and cutthroat, this co-branding agreement forms part of the telco’s commitment to enable digital lifestyle of the mass market segment, leveraging on Cherry Mobile’s strong foothold in the prepaid market with its compelling device offerings,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.

Cherry Mobile was one of the first mobile brands to offer affordable smart phones since it entered the mobile arena six years ago. With its new offering, the company, this time, aims to make affordable data plans and internet access available to the masses.

“When people can enjoy the fruits of the innovation that Cherry Mobile provides, when Cherry, the pioneer in mass market mobile connectivity can combine high quality mobile phones and prepaid service into one affordable package, we can then safely say that my dream, our dream is no longer just a dream, but a happy reality,” commented Cherry Mobile Chief Executive Officer Maynard Ngu.

Globe Telecom has been sometimes under fire for slow internet connection in some areas in the Philippines but Ngu assures its subscribers that the telco’s bandwidth can handle the additional service.

Apart from the affordable data plans, Cherry Prepaid’s selling point is the longer validity period of their mobile promos and sim cards, with call, text and internet packages that can last for 60 days. The unused credits, even the internet data, will be rolled over as soon as the subscriber reloads and will be valid again for the next 60 days. The sim card also has a 365-day validity, and only requires one-time loading.

In the future, Cherry plans to offer a wider range of affordable 4G devices that can be enjoyed with Cherry Prepaid’s data promo, as well as roaming services.

Globe and Cherry also introduced the ambassador for Cherry Prepaid, Bubble Gang star and Eat Bulaga host Michael V.
