SINGAPORE – Corey Cruz has moved to DigitasLBi in Singapore to take on the role of regional creative director.
As regional creative director, Cruz will handle projects across Asia-Pacific.
In an interview with adobo, Cruz shared that she is looking forward to meeting up with teams across the region and immersing herself in various projects.
Prior to the move, Cruz was creative director at BBDO Guerrero/Proximity, where she won awards for campaigns such as ‘Liter of Light’, ‘Unselfie’, and ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’.
“Working at BBDO and with David [Guerrero] has been such a rewarding, challenging, life-changing experience. On my first day I realized that I had so much to learn, and it was a good thing that everyone at Proximity was whip-smart and taught me that digital is not just making a website; it is creating an entire, integrated experience. When everyone in the room has such a high level of intelligence and creativity, you have no choice but to rise to the challenge and try to catch up,” she shared.
On why she decided to move to DigitasLBi, Cruz said that she liked that agency’s work globally, and how it has grown in the region over the past two years.
“I also liked the vision of the agency and how it functions as a network, pulling in resources from all across Asia,” she said.
“When they flew me over for interviews I spent an hour with each senior member of the regional team, and I felt that it would be a great opportunity to be working closely with such a forward-thinking group composed of the heads of strategy, user experience, etc. I’ve been at work only since the start of December and I’ve already learned so much more since, especially in UX,” Cruz shared.
